Our family had just arrived at the lake cottage we had rented for a week of much-anticipated vacation when my wife discovered unmistakable evidence of spiders and mice in the house.
Dr. Soekartawi, former SEARCA Deputy Director for Graduate Scholarship and Research and Development, passed away on 12 November 2009.
He was with SEARCA from May 1996 to December 2001, having been the first Indonesian to hold SEARCA’s second top most position.
SEARCAns would always have fond memories of Dr. Soekartawi. He was a man with a high sense of discipline and a good manager. To most SEARCAns, he was not only Dr. Soekartawi, the Deputy Director. He was also Dr. Soekartawi, a friend.
Dr. Soekartawi is survived by his wife Dina and three sons: Kris, Luthfi, and Ariff. (NARamos)
